  세계 팝 시장의 판도를 뒤흔들고 있는 남미의 걸출한 여성 보컬 샤키라 (1977년 생)가 갈수록 기세등등하다. 2007년 11월에 발매된 영어판 DVD앨범 'Oral Fixation Tour'를 앞세워 관객 250만명을 끌어모은 5개 대륙 순회공연을 마쳤는가 하면, 그래미상 2개를 비롯하여 라틴권의 온갖 음악상을 거의 독식하면서 '팝의 여왕' 자리를 굳혀가고 있다. 2007년 5월 멕시코시티 공연에는 무려 21만명이 몰려 멕시코 역사상 최대인파를 기록했다고 한다.    위 동영상은 멕시코시티의 Plaza del Zocalo 공연실황이고 아래는 MV이다. 남아메리카의 중소국 컬럼비아 태생으로 팝의 본고장 미국의 정상을 넘보는 샤키라는, 타고 난 목소리(성량과 비브라토)에다 빼어난 몸매와 춤솜씨를 자랑한다. 그녀는 6개 국어를 구사하며 4살 때에 혼자 시를 썼고, 7살 때는 벨리 댄스를 배웠다. 첫 앨범을 14살 때 냈다는 샤키라는 싱어 송라이터이자 악기도 잘 다룬다. 레코드 프로듀서에 댄서, 그리고 자선사업가에다 UN친선대사 까지, 이름 앞에 붙는 수식어가 많다.   섹시한 차림의 섹시한 노래에다 섹시한 배꼽춤으로 무대를 휘졌는 그녀의 성공은 바로 이 시대의 황금광맥인 섹시코드로 완전무장한 때문이 아니겠는가?
